 The Building

Barrie Elementary School has established a strong tradition for educating students in a caring and nurturing environment since 1939.  The key to continued success has been and continues to be a dedicated teaching staff supported by wonderful parents.  This combined effort makes this historic building a special place for students.  Our building will be undergoing a major upgrade during in the next few months.  Our antiquated heating system will be replaced by a new heating and cooling system that will provide consistent temperatures in all classrooms, improved air quality, air-conditioning, and be much more efficient.

The Staff

Elementary students come to Barrie as young kindergarten students and leave us ready for middle school.  Each child experiences tremendous intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth during that time.  Our goal at Barrie is to challenge children to improve while providing the tools and support necessary to ensure success. 

 The Barrie Community

Barrie Elementary is fortunate to have wonderful support from community members and parents.  We have a very strong PTO that organizes a number of wonderful family events throughout the year.  It is clear to me that the Barrie Community of parents, neighbors, and special friends all recognize the value of a strong neighborhood school.
