Geraniums
Orchestra Boosters will again hold its annual Spring fund-raiser by selling coupons for geraniums from Blodgett Garden Center. We are proud of this unique, quality fund-raiser. Many folks in town look forward to this event. a portion of the profit for every geranium sold goes into an account for each orchestra student. This money comes in handy when it comes time for the big high school music department spring tour. These coupons will sell for $3.25 each. an order form with detailed instructions is included with this newsletter. The starting date of the fund-raiser is Friday, April 14. All order forms must be returned on Tuesday, April 25, the Tuesday after Easter weekend, at the Commons of Fort Atkinson Middle School, between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The east side entrance will be open. If you are unable to return orders at this time, please have your child place his/her order in my mailbox at his/her school on Thursday, April 20. I will pick up those orders after shcool on that day. We cannot accept any orders after Tuesday, April 25. Blodgetts is very strict about the deadline. I am very grateful for this wonderful fund-raiser.

High School
     The Clinic Concert
is scheduled for Wednesday, May 3 at the High School. This combined concert also features the High School choirs. This year Angie Denny and Megan Dunn will be our featured soloists.

All Orchestra Students
All students will participate in our annual String Festival on Thursday evening, May 18.
It's a very exciting, motivating event for our younger students as they work to pass their levels and have a chance to perform with the high school and middle school orchestras.
Senior violist, Pamela Strange Harris will be our featured soloist.

Youth Orchestra Auditions
Auditions for next year's Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras are currently in process in Mills Hall on the UW-Madison Campus. Being a "WYSO Family" is an exhilarating experience! Don't hesitate to prepare for an audition! Call 608-263-3320 for scheduling information. Being a member of WYSO can make such a contribution to the matuing of any young musician. GO FOR IT! And don't overlook the fine Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra also! Call 414-272-8540 for details.

Summer School
I highly recommend that our students keep up their playing during the summer months. many fine options are available. I will be teaching summer orchestra in small group lessons. We
will meet on Wednesdays for 40-minute classes during the regular six-week summer school session. Compatible groups are scheduled according to availability. Students receive more individual attention then is possible during the school year.

Summer Music Camp

I highly recommend summer music camp
for high school and middle school orchestra students. Students learn a great deal, but more importantly, it's a very motivating experience. a variety of camps are available.  Students may
earn a large portion of the tuition via the Geranium Sale. I will be sending home more detailed information on some of the various camp options.
