Responsibilities of Orchestra Board Members

President Sets meeting agendas; runs meetings
Works with Orchestra Director.
Helps to coordinate Field Trips.
Two year term limit
 
Vice President/ President Elect Runs meeting in President's absence.
Works to help get newsletter printed and distributed.
Two year limit
 
Secretary Records meeting minutes.
Reports on previous meeting from minutes taken.
Two year term limit
Treasurer Keeps all financial records,
Write checks from checkbook to cover approved Orchestra Booster expenses.  Balance check book. 
Report at each meeting on financial standing.
Keep track of Orchestra student accounts
Print mailing labels from list of current students.
Two year term limit.
Dessert Concert Chair Organizes volunteers for Dessert Concert, Working with District Director, sets decoration theme dessert recipes for Concert.
Lets Publicity Chair know concert theme and colors so posters and programs can be coordinated.
Sees that Advance Ticket Sale forms and Dessert Concert Tickets are printed and distributed in a timely manner. 
Arranges for volunteers to help with ticket pick-up. 
Works with Concert Stage Manager to coordinate dessert area and
backstage/concert area during concert.
Tabulates data on Dessert Concert and reports back to Orchestra Boosters.
 
Publicity Coordinator Has photographs with captions to the newspapers in a timely manner.
Contacts WFAW/WSJY for Radio spots.  Able to access internet to put notices of Orchestra events on community calendars of area media stations. 
Working with District Orchestra Director, create posters, advertising Orchestra.
Coordinate distribution of posters Events in a timely manner. 
Format and have printed, programs to coordinate with posters for Orchestra Events.
 
Newsletter Editor Format and have printed the Orchestra Newsletter three times a year. 
Certain articles will repeat seasonally.  Others will be submitted or need to be written. 
Should be able to format photographs digitally for inclusion in the newsletters.
Contact Treasurer for printed mailing labels.
Coordinate folding, stamping and mailing of newsletters
 
Geranium Sale Chair Contacts Blodgett Garden Center to arrange geranium coupons and sale dates. Organize volunteers to collect geranium money and give out coupons.  Tabulates amounts made from sale and Reports to Orchestra Boosters.
 
District Director of Orchestras
(This is a non-voting position)
Head of the school district Orchestra program.  This person's input relates directly to each of the other board positions.
 
Elementary Orchestra Instructor
(This is a non-voting position)
Gives input from the elementary program and point of view.
