SUBMITTING AN EVENT TO THE DISTRICT ONLINE CALENDAR

 

 

Open a web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape) to http://calendar.fortschools.org

 

Choose your school from the list of choices.

 

 

Click on  located on the right side of the calendar view.

 

 

Select calendar

Where the event is going to take place.

 

Select date

Select Start time

End time is optional

If Item is to repeat, choose repeat pattern

 

Event Title

This is the title that will be viewed on the school and District calendars.  This title will also be used when the paper calendar is produced.  Use titles similar to those that are used on our current paper calendar, for example:

·        Festival of Choirs

·        FFA Banquet

·        G BB vs Milton (home)

 

Category – This is not used for High School or Middle school events. Elementary school submissions would use this to choose the place of the event.

 

Description – You may use this space for as much description as you wish for your event.  Viewers of the calendar will be able to see this description when they click on your event on the on-line calendar.  Please include details like:

 

Other facilities needed – This space allows you to only publish an event once but will appear on multiple calendars.  Enter the location if it matched a location below.

Event for Public Viewing? – This is a very import field to fill out!

Fill in YES if you want this event to appear on High School and District Calendars.  In most cases you will fill in YES

Fill in NO if you want to reserve the room in the school without it appearing on High School and District calendars.  You may wish to indicate NO if the primary purpose of submitting the event is for reserving the room for a private practice or rehearsal.

Submit Event

This will submit the event for approval.  The event will not show up on any calendar until it is approved.  After the event is approved, it will show up on the appropriate calendars.  You will receive an e-mail indicating the event was approved.
