341.2 - Reading Instruction
A systematic 4K-12 developmental reading instruction program shall be provided to all students. The reading curriculum shall be a component of a balanced literacy program that includes listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
The reading program shall be under the direction of the Director of Instruction. The curriculum shall be developed in collaboration with district reading specialists, teachers and interventionists. The Director of Instruction will oversee program implementation, staff development, support services coordination and ongoing program monitoring and evaluation.
