Hello!  Welcome to to Fourth Grade!  This begins my ninth year of teaching at Luther Elementary School!  I have been teaching since 2001 and have always been a 4th grade teacher.  I think this is the BEST grade in elementary school!  I would like to take a moment to tell you about myself.

I attended the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.  GO EAGLES!  I hold a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Elementary Education and a Minor Degree in Social Studies. I previously taught in Kingsport, Tennessee and Bangor, Wisconsin.  In 2004, I happily came to Luther Elementary School.

Last summer I was married and my husband Rich and I live here in Fort Atkinson.  We share our home with our four pets....our chocolate lab Toby, our lab mix Jasper, and our cats Coco and Koby.

I grew up in Warren, Illinois which is located about an hour and a half southwest of Fort Atkinson.  I enjoy going home to see my family when I can.  My parents, Randy and Jackie and my sister Megan come to Fort Atkinson often.  They are big supporters of our school, which is great!  I love how my family supports my profession and my students. You may even see us at a Blackhawks game or two!

I have many hobbies.  I enjoy reading, taking walks with Toby and Jasper, working in my garden, watching Packer football and Brewer baseball, and traveling.  I absolutely love the Civil War era and my family and I often tour Civil War battlefields and other historical sites.  I have gone back to an old hobby and that is cross-stiching and embroidery  Finally, I love learning more about my profession and the use of technology in the classroom!  I spend time continuing my own education as well as teaching other teachers about SMARTBoard technology.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me.  As the year progresses, I am sure we will share more!  I look forward to learning about you too!
