Meet Mrs. Herdendorf

  •          I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and your child this year.  I love to see the changes and growth that occur during first grade.  We will become better readers, writers, spellers, mathematicians, scientists...and lose many teeth along the way!

I believe that teaching is one of the most important professions that an individual can have.  I graduated from U.W.-Whitewater with both my bachelors and masters degrees.  I have been teaching for more than 25 years.  I had the privilege to join the Fort Atkinson School District and I have been teaching at Purdy for more than 20 years.  The majority of these years have been in first grade.

My husband and I live in Milton.  We have two wonderful sons who are both newly married !  Our oldest son Casey and his wife, Martha are expecting their first baby in late winter.  Casey is in risk management for a large insurance company, and Martha is in internet marketing.   Our other son is Ty (Tyler) and his wife, Stephanie live in Lake Geneva.  Ty is a safety coordinator for utility company in the Milwaukee area.  He travels throughout the Midwest.  Stephanie is in sales and marketing for a food service and hospitality.  We spend as much time as we can as a family together.

We are fortunate to have a family home in Door County.  I enjoy swimming, boating, and relaxing in one of the most beautiful areas of the state.  My husband and I have season Badger football tickets.  We enjoy tailgating before games and this gives us the opportunity to spend time together as well as with close friends.  Our only disagreement that we have is that he is a Packer fan, while I grew up in the Chicago so I am a Bear fan.

I want to invite you to stop in our classroom anytime.  Please feel free to contact me anytime you have a question or concern.
