Mrs.Krausse's Classroom Rules
It is important that you and your child be informed of my standards of classroom behavior so everyone knows what is expected. I have always found parents to be very supportive of good classroom behavior so their child has a good environment for maximum learning.
Mrs. Krausse's Top 5:
1. Everyone gets started right away on their task/activity, works the entire time, and stays in their spot/area.
2. Appropriate voice level is used for each activity.
3. Everyone completes their homework on time and is prepared with materials every day.
4. All classmates show respect by getting along with each other during work time and listening to each other's ideas.
5. Everyone shows responsibility and participates during work time.

These 5 rules go along with our school-wide PBIS program. All students are expected to be responsible, be respectful, be safe, and be ready to learn every single day. We are preparing students for their futures and these are necessary real-world skills each student is accountable for.
Many elements are in place to promote our use of these rules in our school and classroom.
First, we have a voice scale system in our school all students must follow. The voice scale system is hanging on the whiteboard by our calendar. The voice scale is:
Level 0 ~ Silent Voice; No talking
Level 1 ~ Spy Talk; Whisper voice
Level 2 ~ Quiet Voice; Soft talking
Level 3 ~ Inside Voice; Normal talking
Level 4 ~ Outside Voice; Yelling, Shouting, etc.
While in hallways students are a Level 0; while in the classrooms they should be a Level 0 - 2 (this may vary for specials); while outside a Level 3 - 4.
In my classroom, all students are a Level 0 during all independent work times and should be no louder than a Level 2 (quiet talk) during any group or partner work.
My main job is to educate your children and prepare them for the real world and to be career and college ready! With the help of parents, teachers, principals, and students I know we can do what's best for our kids!
