About Mrs. Perkins and Mrs. Ehlen

  • A little about Mrs. Ehlen...

Mrs. Ehlen will teach reading and writing in the morning and will be traveling to the four elementary schools as the K-2 literacy coach in the district. This will be her eighth year in the district. During this time, she works in teachers’ classrooms to implement the Comprehensive Literacy Model. She will be helping these teachers learn best practices for teaching reading and writing.

She is married to her husband Jake and has a two-year-old son, Cole and a five-month-old baby, Hadley.  She lives near Jake’s family dairy farm in Whitewater. Some of their favorite activities include camping during the summer, taking walks with their dog, Chloe and spending time at the farm with the cows.  Cole and Hadley are having so much growing and interacting as siblings.  Each day is full of new adventures and memorable moments.

    A little about Mrs. Perkins...

Mrs. Perkins will teach math, science, and social studies in the afternoon. In the mornings, she will work as a Reading Recovery interventionist. During this time, she will implement one-on-one reading intervention to our first grade students.

She grew up in Janesville, WI and currently reside in Fort Atkinson. Mrs. Perkins married her husband Nick in 2008 and we have two boys, Finn who is four and Evan who is 2 years old. She like to read and camp. Fall is her favorite season, since she love the Packers and Halloween!  It is also the start to a new school year!  Mrs. Perkins have always wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, and feel very lucky to do something she loves everyday.
