My Homework

  • Reading

Each evening students will bring home a book bag that contains a familiar book, a signature sheet, and occasionally there will be an activity that goes along with that book.  The book can be read to a parent, grandparent, guardian, sibling, or even a stuffed animal!  The important thing to remember is that your child reads the book and does the activity.  After the book has been read, please sign the sheet that indicates your student has read the book, and  be sure to have your child return the book, signature sheet, and activity to school the next day.  Each time a signed sheet is returned, your child will place a sticker on his/her reading chart.  As soon as the chart is filled, students in the classroom will decide on the celebration they would like to have.  In the past we have had pizza lunches, ice cream parties, and even watched a movie.

We will be using Everyday Math in our classroom again this year.  Most days, your student will be bringing home a "Home Link" and return it the next day.  The "Home Link" will have information/questions on it that were practiced in class that day and provide additional practice for your child.  Home Links should take 15 minutes or less to complete and should not be a difficult or stressful experience for your child or you!  Please contact me if you have questions or concerns about the "Home Link"
