All About Me

There was a day when I was in kindergarten too.

I was born in Brooklyn, New York and had three younger sisters.  The month of September was always a favorite month for me.  I loved the excitement of new school supplies, new teachers, and learning.  After graduating from high school, I attended Taylor University in Indiana.  I discovered that learning at the college level was even more rewarding.  I transferred to Elmhurst College in Illinois the following year.  After finishing two years, I was unsure of which direction I should take with my formal education.  I began to pursue work experiences to help define my calling in life.

I married Steve and had four beautiful daughters.  Brittany, Abbey, Victoria, and Mikayla.  As my family developed, I invested each day in the nurture and care of my children.  I observed, first hand, the stages of the developing mind of a child.  I actively participated in introducing new concepts and supporting the intellectual and social growth of my children.  Assisting children to learn became my passion.  When Mikayla started kindergarten in 2002, I was given the opportunity to develop these gifts and talents in the kindergarten classroom at Rockwell Elementary School.  Through this experience, I know that my calling in life is to facilitate the learning of young children.
In 2006, I returned to school and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
