Wind Turbine at FAHS
Endurance Wind Turbine installed in February of 2010 supplies the high school with Six percent of its electrical energy needed to run the building. The project cost $414,000 dollars, with incentives the district outlay was approximately $145,000 or one-third of the cost. Estimated payback including yearly maintenance costs is 11.3 years. The life span of the Endurance Wind Turbine is estimated at thirty years. We know that wind turbine’s can be refurbished at a fraction of the cost they were installed, thus this energy source can serve us well for many years beyond the thirty year life span.
