• My name is Mrs. Steed.  I am the new special education teacher for grades k-2 at Rockwell Elementary School.  Thank you to all of the wonderful families and staff that have welcomed me to this wonderful learning community!  I feel very blessed to be a part of such a dedicated staff, and I know we will have a very productive year of learning.

Teaching:  This year will be my 25th year in education.  I just completed 24 years of teaching in the Beloit School District.  I have worked in a variety of schools and have had the pleasure of working with children in grades kindergarten through seven.  I have provided many service models over the years.  I am trained in co-teaching and provide support services within the general setting whenever possible.  I have also run resource rooms for small group intervention with academics, and have provided social skills instruction.

Education:  BSE grades k-9 from UW-Whitewater with 30 credits beyond my degree

Family: I am married to Mr. Steed.  I have two amazing children named Cody and Brenna.  We are a family of dog lovers, so we have a yellow and black lab.

Hobbies:  I enjoy spending time with family and friends.  I love to read, listen to music, and go for walks.

Communication:  I truly believe open communication between home and school is key to student success.  Please feel free to contact me by phone 563-7818 or email steedm@fortschools.org.  I will do my absolute best to return your call/email as soon as possible.
