Ms. Sayre is the K-12 District Literacy Coordinator and also serves as a District Literacy Coach for grades 4-8.  She has worked in the District for 15 years and started working with the English Language Arts department at FAMS in 2014.  Ms. Sayre works at FAMS and in all four elementary buildings.  

Many ask, "What are literacy coaches and what do they do?"  A literacy coach is a reading specialist who provides professional development for teachers by providing them with the supports needed to implement various instructional programs and practices to help develop teacher expertise to increase student achievement.  Ms. Sayre facilitates teacher workshops and grade-level/department meetings, engages in collaborative instructional planning with teachers, and models teaching in classrooms to support teachers.
