Welcome to Speech and Language!
Dear Parents,
Hello and welcome to the speech-language program at Rockwell Elementary! My name is Toni Isaacsen and I have been a speech-language pathologist since January 1995. I completed my undergraduate degree at UW-Whitewater in December of 1992 and my graduate degree at UW-Whitewater in December of 1994. I began working in the Janesville School District in January 1995 and was employed there for two and a half years. I am a resident of Palmyra and in order to cut the commuting distance I accepted a speech-language pathology position in the Whitewater Unified School District in August of 1997. While working for the WUSD I worked in multiple buildings; elementary through high school. In August of 2005, I accepted a position in the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District in order to be working in the district where my kids go to school. Due to political issues within the state and within the district, I accepted a speech-language pathology position in the School District of Fort Atkinson in August of 2011. I am so pleased to be working here at Rockwell and within the School District of Fort Atkinson. The team approach to student learning at Rockwell is exemplary and I am excited to be working with such a terrific group of people. Because this building houses so many student with diverse learning needs, I also see the students at Rockwell with levels of compassion and empathy that I had not previously encountered. It truly is a joy to work here.
On a personal note, I am married with two sons currently in high school. We live in Palmyra and while both my husband and I work full time, we (and by that I mean my husband :) ) decided it would be fun to also farm. Thus, we farm a few hundred acres, raise beef cattle, swine and poultry. Out boys are involved in 4-H, FFA, and athletics. It is a busy and fun time at the Isaacsen home. If you ever need to reach me over the summer you can always find me at the Jefferson County Fair in July :)
Professionally, my goals as a speech-language pathologist have remained consistent: provide effective services to children, create and maintain positive relationships with my students, act as a resource to staff, and build open and positive relationships with parents. If you ever have any questions or would like to share information with me regarding your son/daughter please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me. You know your child the best and you are the most important people in their lives. I value your input and would like to work collaboratively to help your child reach their potential.
Sincerely,
Toni Isaacsen, Speech-Language Pathologist
