- The Snowflake Dance will take place on Thurs, Feb 9th from 5:30-7:00 in the Luther cafe.  The PTO will be selling Sal's pizza and water.  Please join us!!

Hello Luther Families,

I hope you are having a good week.  I wanted to share some updates:

- The PTO Glenn's Fundraiser orders and money are due to Luther tomorrow (Thursday, January 19th).  All checks should be made out to the Luther PTO.  Thank you!!  The items can be picked up on Wednesday, February 15th.  The time frame and location are yet to be determined.

- Today we practiced our Medical Response Team Drill (MERT team) with our district nursing staff.  We use this team to respond should their be an injury or critical medical situation in our school.  Students have been informed this was just a drill and everyone is safe.

This drill is practiced so that we respond quickly and correctly in a medical emergency.  All students remain in their classrooms with their teachers during these situations so medical personnel can get into our building. 

Again, it was just a drill, all students and staff are safe and students have processed this as well.

- Remember students do not have school this Friday, January 20th as teachers are working to complete grading and report cards.

Espero que estén teniendo una buena semana.  Quería compartir algunas actualizaciones:

- El PTO Glenns recaudación de fondos órdenes y el dinero se deben a Luther mañana (jueves, 19 de enero).  Todos los cheques deben hacerse a nombre de la PTO Luther.  ¡Gracias!  Los artículos pueden ser recogidos el miércoles, 15 de febrero.  La hora y el lugar están aún por determinar.

- Hoy practicamos nuestro Simulacro de Equipo de Respuesta Médica (equipo MERT) con nuestro personal de enfermería del distrito.  Utilizamos este equipo para responder en caso de que haya una lesión o situación médica crítica en nuestra escuela.  Los estudiantes han sido informados de que esto era sólo un simulacro y todo el mundo está a salvo.

Este simulacro se practica para que podamos responder rápida y correctamente en caso de emergencia médica.  Todos los estudiantes permanecen en sus aulas con sus profesores durante estas situaciones para que el personal médico pueda entrar en nuestro edificio. 

Una vez más, era sólo un simulacro, todos los estudiantes y el personal están a salvo y los estudiantes han procesado esto también.
- Recuerde que los estudiantes no tienen escuela este viernes, 20 de enero ya que los maestros están trabajando para completar las calificaciones y boletas de calificaciones.

I hope you have had a great week.  I wanted to share a few items with you:

- The last day in quarter #2 will be next Thursday, January 19th.  Students DO NOT have school on Friday, January 20th.

- Quarter #2 report cards will be sent home with students in their take home folder on Friday, January 27th.

- Rock River Dental - free dental care on Friday, February 3rd.  Please see attachment below.

- PTO Glenn's Market Fundraiser - All forms and money due to Luther School by Friday, January 20th.  Please make checks to the Luther PTO.  The pick-up of orders will be on Wednesday, February 15th.

Espero que hayan tenido una gran semana.  Quería compartir algunas cosas con ustedes:

- El último día en el trimestre # 2 será el próximo jueves, 19 de enero.  Los estudiantes NO tienen escuela el viernes, 20 de enero.

Hello Luther Families,

Thank you to all families that attend the Winter Sing programs last week and this week.  The students did an AMAZING job!!

Attached is a list of holiday spirit dress up days for next week.  All students and staff are encouraged to participate.

Students are in school next week beginning Monday, December 19th and ending Thursday, December 22nd.  Students DO NOT have school on Friday, December 23rd.  All classes in the SDFA will resume on Tuesday, January 3rd.

On the last day before the winter break we will be having an all school sing along at 2:15 and classroom parties will also take place on this day.  

The Luther Team is so very proud of your children.  Thank you for your support.  We hope you have a safe and joyful holiday season.

Hola Familias de Lutero,

Gracias a todos los que asistieron a los programas de Winter Sing la semana pasada y esta semana.  Los estudiantes hicieron un trabajo INCREIBLE.

Se adjunta una lista de días de fiesta espíritu vestir para la próxima semana.  Todos los estudiantes y el personal son alentados a participar.

Los estudiantes están en la escuela la próxima semana a partir del lunes, 19 de diciembre y termina el jueves, 22 de diciembre.  Los estudiantes NO tienen escuela el viernes, 23 de diciembre.  Todas las clases en el SDFA se reanudarán el martes 3 de enero.

En el último día antes de las vacaciones de invierno tendremos un canto a lo largo de toda la escuela a las 2:15 y fiestas en el aula también se llevará a cabo en este día.  

El equipo de Luther está muy orgulloso de sus hijos.  Gracias por su apoyo.  Esperamos que tengan unas felices fiestas.

I wanted to share a few upcoming items at Luther.  You will find all of these items attached as well.

- PTO Trivia Night - Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader - Monday, December 5th from 6:00-8:00 at Mr. Brews.  The cost is $20 per team if you pre-register by emailing amandakaiser88@gmail.com.  All of the money will go toward the Luther Playground.

- Science Fair T-Shirt Design Contest - All entries are due by January 9th.  Please see the attachment for more details.

- Penny Challenge - The students will be participating in a Penny Challenge the week of December 5th.  Once again, all of the money raised will go toward the purchasing of a new playground structure.  Please see the details below.

- PTO Meeting - The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 6th at 5:30 in the Luther IMC.

- This Friday, November 11th we will be having a Veterans Day assembly around 9 AM.  We are encouraging all students to wear Red, White and Blue on this day.

- Parent/Teacher conferences will be taking place next week.  You should have received final communication from your child's teacher.  If you have any questions please let us know.

- The Book Fair will be set up next week.  Today your child will be bringing home a flier about the Fair.  These notes are also attached. The online store will be up and open next week. The link is below.

- A group of students from Luther is holding a food drive so we can collect and donate food to the FA Food Pantry.  Students can bring in items anytime this week or next week.

- Este viernes, 11 de noviembre tendremos una asamblea del Día de los Veteranos alrededor de las 9 AM.  Estamos alentando a todos los estudiantes a llevar rojo, blanco y azul en este día.

- Las conferencias de padres y maestros se llevarán a cabo la próxima semana.  Usted debe haber recibido la comunicación final de la maestra de su hijo.  Si tiene alguna pregunta, por favor, háganoslo saber.

Good Morning Luther Families,

We have had some great activities going on at Luther recently.  Last week, as you know, we held our annual costume parade around the block.  The students had so much fun. Thank you to those families that were able to come out and join the fun.

Yesterday we had an author at school reading one of her stories aloud to students. The author's name is Linda Teed, Fort Atkinson Resident.  She shared her story and experiences with being an author.  The students loved her book!!

Tonight (11-1-22) the PTO meeting will be at 5:30 in the Luther IMC.  Please join us!!

The SDFA will be holding an informational referendum session tonight (11-1-22) at 6:30.  This will be upstairs at Luther in the conference room.

Buenos días familias de Lutero,

Recientemente hemos tenido algunas actividades estupendas en Luther.  La semana pasada, como saben, tuvimos nuestro desfile anual de disfraces alrededor de la manzana.  Los estudiantes se divirtieron mucho. Gracias a las familias que pudieron venir y unirse a la diversión.

Ayer tuvimos a una autora en la escuela leyendo uno de sus cuentos en voz alta a los estudiantes. El nombre de la autora es Linda Teed, residente de Fort Atkinson.  Ella compartió su historia y experiencias con ser un autor.  A los estudiantes les encantó su libro.

Esta noche (11-1-22) la reunión del PTO será a las 5:30 en el Luther IMC.  ¡Por favor, únase a nosotros!

El SDFA tendrá una sesión de referéndum informativo esta noche (11-1-22) a las 6:30.  Esto será arriba en Luther en la sala de conferencias.

Thank you to those that were able to attend the costume parade yesterday.  The students had a blast on a beautiful fall day!!

Just a reminder - students do not have school today (Thursday) or tomorrow.

I will be sending the November Newsletter out next week so please keep an eye on your email.

A few other notes:

- Please return your child's conference note.  We will be scheduling these next week and you will receive a second note on November 7th inviting you to your child's conference.  Conferences will take place on November 15th and 17th.

- The Scholastic Book Fair will be open the week of November 14th.  It is open over lunch, after school and on the evenings of conferences.

- Thank you to those that signed up to volunteer for the Book Fair!!  Also thank you to the families that signed up to donate food for teacher meals on conference nights.  You can drop those items off at Luther at anytime.

- Dress up days:

  - Friday, November 4th - Luther Loyalty Day!!  Students and Staff should show their Luther spirit be wearing Luther gear!!

  - Friday, November 11th - We will be holding a Veterans Day program at 9 AM.  All students and staff are encouraged to wear Red, White and Blue!!

- The next early release day will be on Monday, November 14th.

Gracias a los que pudieron asistir al desfile de disfraces ayer.  Los estudiantes se divirtieron mucho en un hermoso día de otoño.

Sólo un recordatorio - los estudiantes no tienen escuela hoy (jueves) o mañana.

Estaré enviando el boletín de noviembre la próxima semana, así que por favor manténgase atento a su correo electrónico.

Algunas otras notas:

- Por favor, devuelva la nota de la conferencia de su hijo.  Estaremos programando estas la próxima semana y usted recibirá una segunda nota el 7 de noviembre invitándolo a la conferencia de su hijo.  Las conferencias tendrán lugar los días 15 y 17 de noviembre.

- La Feria del Libro de Scholastic estará abierta la semana del 14 de noviembre.  Estará abierta durante el almuerzo, después de la escuela y en las tardes de las conferencias.

- Gracias a los que se inscribieron como voluntarios para la Feria del Libro.  También gracias a las familias que se inscribieron para donar alimentos para las comidas de los maestros en las noches de conferencia.  Usted puede dejar esos artículos en Luther en cualquier momento.

Good Morning Luther Parents,

Well, we sure had a surprise yesterday with an unexpected tornado warning in October.  The students and staff did a FANTASTIC job of getting to their designated tornado shelters in a timely manner.  All students and staff were safe as they were in the shelters for about 25 minutes.  Some students even had to eat lunch later than normal.  This is the reason we practice drills so ALL are ready in the event of a real emergency.  All went very well.

A few other updates:

- Monday, October 17th will be an early release day so students will dismiss from school at 1:30.

- The PTO Trivia Night at Mr. Brews will take place on Monday, October 17th from 6:00-8:00.  Be sure to get your trivia team.  All of the money earned will help the Luther PTO pay for playground equipment.  See the attachment below.

- There will be a Family Engagement night on Thursday, October 20th.  See the attachment below.

Buenos días padres de Luther,

Bueno, ayer tuvimos una sorpresa con una inesperada advertencia de tornado en octubre.  Los estudiantes y el personal hicieron un trabajo FANTÁSTICO de llegar a sus refugios designados para el tornado de manera oportuna.  Todos los estudiantes y el personal estuvieron a salvo ya que estuvieron en los refugios durante unos 25 minutos.  Algunos estudiantes incluso tuvieron que almorzar más tarde de lo normal.  Esta es la razón por la que practicamos los simulacros para que TODOS estén preparados en caso de una emergencia real.  Todo fue muy bien.

Algunas otras actualizaciones:

- El lunes, 17 de octubre será un día de salida temprana así que los estudiantes saldrán de la escuela a la 1:30.

- La noche de trivia del PTO en Mr. Brews tendrá lugar el lunes, 17 de octubre de 6:00-8:00.  Asegúrese de conseguir su equipo de trivia.  Todo el dinero ganado ayudará al PTO de Luther a pagar por el equipo del patio de recreo.  Ver el archivo adjunto a continuación.

Hello Luther Families,

I wanted to share some brief updates with you:

- The Talent Show tryouts being sponsored by the Fort Atkinson Community Theater (FACT) are this weekend at Luther School.  Your child can attend any one of the days/times: Saturday, October 8th from 9:00-12:00 or Sunday, October 9th from 12:00-3:00.

- The next PTO meeting will be on Tuesday, November 1st.  The time will be from 5:30-6:30 in the Luther IMC.  Please note this meeting is starting at 5:30, which is one hour earlier than the normal start time.

- The PTO is still trying to get families to collect box tops.  I have attached the flier for the procedure as to how to download the box tops app.  Please help out the PTO!!

- As you may have heard, we are trying to raise money for a new playground structure to replace an old, outdated structure.  We are about half way there but are still in need of raising a significant amount of money.  The PTO is trying to raise money.  You can help by attending the PTO Trivia Night on Monday, October 17th at Mr. Brews.  The theme for the night is "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader".  Please see the image below.  The contest will run from 6:00-8:00 that night.  The PTO will earn a portion of the money earned that night from 4:00-8:00.

Quería compartir algunas breves actualizaciones con ustedes:

- Las pruebas del Show de Talentos patrocinado por el Teatro Comunitario de Fort Atkinson (FACT) son este fin de semana en la Escuela Luther.  Su hijo puede asistir a cualquiera de los días/horas: Sábado, 8 de octubre de 9:00-12:00 o domingo, 9 de octubre de 12:00-3:00.

- La próxima reunión del PTO será el martes 1 de noviembre.  La hora será de 5:30-6:30 en el Luther IMC.  Por favor, tenga en cuenta que esta reunión comienza a las 5:30, que es una hora antes de la hora de inicio normal.
