5.14.2020 End of School Year & Summer School Updates
Good Afternoon SDFA Families,
We hope this communication finds you and your family well and enjoying the spring weather. This email will provide an update on the end of the school year and summer school.
Last day of School for Students - June 5th
Our last day of school was planned for Tuesday, June 9th. Given the circumstances, there is important work for our 1Fort Team to do to begin preparation for the fall of 2020. To make this possible, the last day of school for students will be Friday, June 5th.
Q4 Report Cards
As a reminder, 1Fort@Home is currently optional for our families and students. For this reason, there will be no quarter 4 report cards this year.
Summer School Update
The district knows how important summer programming is to our families and 1Fort community. Despite the current circumstances, the district remains committed to providing opportunities as permitted by the State for our students this summer.
Summer School - “Phase 1” - June 15 through July 10, 2020
Given the State requirement for school closure through June 30, the first phase of our summer 2020 programming will be VIRTUAL. Our traditional summer school programming for students in grades kindergarten through grade 8 will be offered virtually during this time. Camps and high school credit recovery classes will also be offered.
Watch your email tomorrow (5/15) for Phase 1 course offerings and registration information!
Priority registration for Phase 1 will open on Monday, May 18th and run through Tuesday, May 26. If your child plans to participate in 1Fort@Home - Summer School (Phase 1), please enroll during Priority Registration as the district requires sufficient enrollment for courses to run this summer.
Summer School - “Phase 2” - July 13 to Start of School
Phase 2 of Summer School will begin on Monday, July 13th. The district is planning to offer camps to students entering upper elementary grades through high school. Pending where our State is in the Badger Bounceback Plan, our hope is to offer some camps with in-person instruction, if permitted, to our students while abiding by the State regulations in place at that time. Virtual offerings may be available as well. Phase 2 offerings will be finalized when more information is available from the State, with registration for Phase 2 camps scheduled for June.
Thank you for your continued support in the final stretch of the school year. Think summer!
