Leadership and Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports

Leadership and Positive Behavior at Purdy

At Purdy Elementary, we take great pride in fostering a school culture rooted in leadership, respect, and responsibility. Our approach is guided by the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) framework, which helps create a safe, inclusive, and positive environment where all students can learn and thrive.

At the start of each school year, we collaborate with students to establish clear school-wide expectations. These expectations are reinforced and revisited regularly to support continued growth throughout the year.

Our core behavioral values include:
Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, and Be Ready to Learn!

We help students understand the importance of their choices and recognize the impact they have on our school community. Purdy takes great pride in implementing a Leadership Model in line with PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) within our building to help establish a school culture that is safe and healthy to learn and grow.  We work with students to develop school expectations at the beginning of each school year while revisiting areas of growth throughout the year.

Students are "caught" for good leadership and acts of kindness throughout the entire school year with "Leadership Shout Outs". Students "caught" are then recognized at monthly assemblies and through collaborative activities that build our capacity to be good citizens.
